Introduction:
As stated by the cell theory, "All cells are living things and they come from other cells. They do not originate from non-living matter." Cell division is a way for organisms to reproduce, grow and repair themselves. In particular, the ability for a cell to reproduce is very importance because it allows the species to survive even if the parent organism dies. The cell cycle is a series of stages that effectively illustrates the process of how a cell grows, divides and reproduces. An example of the cell cycle can be found below:
